A Free Zakzaky protest will take place at the Nigeria House in London in opposition to the continued illegal detention of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky despite court ruling to set him free.

The protest rally is scheduled for Tuesday 12th December, 2017 from 3:00 PM till 7:00PM London time.

Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky has been in detention since December 14th, 2015 when Nigerian government sent the military to attack his residence and Islamic centre, killing his sons and over a thousand others in a gruesome attack.

The revered leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria has been an outspoken critic of government corruption and is well known to demand justice for all Nigerians irrespective of tribal or religious affiliation. He stands tall as a beacon of unity and peace in the country.

He was last seen publicly on Monday 14th December, 2015 in his pool of blood after the military viciously manhandled him, severally shooting him. He is being held incommunicado since then, and has not been charged to court all this while. A Federal High Court in Abuja had ruled that his detention was unconstitutional and a severe breach of his rights, and therefore ordered for his release, but the government has been defiantly holding the Sheikh.

If you happen to be in London on that day, please join the protest.

Similar protests are being planned in other countries, including Pakistan, India, Malaysia and Turkey among others.

A Twitter storm has also been scheduled to hold on that day.
