Islamic Movement to mark second year anniversary of Massacre in Abuja

The Islamic Movement in Nigeria has completed arrangement to mark the second year anniversary of the Zaria massacre in Abuja between the 12th and 14th of December, 2017.

The solemn anniversary is scheduled to coincide with the 12th to 14th of December, the days in which the massacre took place in Zaria in 2015.

A lot of activities have been earmarked to take place during the period, including media engagements, Twitter storm and Free Zakzaky rallies. Other activities include advocacy visitations, open enlightenment campaigns and so on.

Only last weekend, the Islamic Movement marked the one year anniversary of the landmark judgement by Honourable Justice Gabriel Kolawole of the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court that declared the detention of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky and his wife, Malama Zeenat Ibrahim as unconstitutional and therefore ordered their release, with a roundtable meeting in Abuja.

All people of conscience, human rights activists and civil society organizations are expected to join thousands of members of the Movement to participate in the three-day peaceful event. The cooperation of the general public is solicited for a successful and peaceful occasion.
