Protests were held or are currently taking place in the following countries:
Organised by the Universal Justice Network, the protests demand justice for those detained and those killed in the Zaria Massacre two years ago today. Over 1000 unarmed peaceful people were killed by the Nigerian army during attacks on Islamic Movement sites including mosques, Islamic centres and the home of its leader Sheikh Zakzaky who was blinded in one eye during the attack, and whose wife was shot twice. Three of his sons were also killed in the massacre.
Zakzaky and Malama Zeenah remain incarcerated without charge until today as do up one thousand others.
