Revisiting that first IMN letter to Buhari

In the wake of the premeditated brutal killing of over a thousand unarmed people in Zaria between 12th and 14th and beyond, the Islamic Movement wrote a letter early in January, 2016 to the President, Muhammadu Buhari. Let us reflect on the content of that letter.

Your Excellency
The President and Commander of the Armed forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

COMPLAIN ON ZARIA INCIDENT OF 12TH DECEMBER 2015 TO DATE:

Dear Sir,
Sequel to the events that occurred in Zaria from 12th December 2015 to date, where our Leader Shaikh Ibraheem Zakzaky was shot and arrested with many killed, hundreds missing as well as many others arrested; and the press briefing of the Executive Governor of Kaduna State Malam Nasiru El-Rufa’i and your media chat, we feel highly aggrieved by what appears passing judgement on the matter.

Yes, there are State apparatus of feeding your office with information. However we believe the information available to you is lopsided. Justice and Fairness will demand that other side of the story be listened to.

The Islamic Movement in Nigeria being in existence for over 38 years with track record of peaceful activities can not over night be turned into a violent group through misinformation.

We therefore call on you as the President and Commander In Chief of Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to use your good office to do justice  to the issue.

Allah  the Most High said : “Allah has commanded you to render back your Trusts To those to whom they are due ; And when you judge between men, That you judge with justice :Verily how excellent is the teaching which He giveth you! For Allah is He Who heareth and seeth all things.” (Qur’an 4:58)

With all good wishes. We do await your urgent and favorable consideration on this request.

Yours  Sincerely
