Reports reaching us at Reflection, indicate that the two members of the Islamic Movement arrested by Nigerian army last week in Tsangarwa in Jigawa state have been released.
The duo, Musa Dauda and Musbahu Muhammad, were unjustifiably arrested after soldiers besieged the town of Tsangarwa and conducted a house-to-house search for weapons, which according to them, were said to be stockpiled by certain people in the locality. Although they did not find any weapons after the search, they nevertheless arrested 2 people, who were members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria. They were later handed to the DSS in Dutse, the Jigawa state capital.
No charges were brought against them nor were they told why the arrest was made in the first place. Their release was unconditional after having spent more than a week in wrongful detention.
A statement by the President, Media Forum of the Islamic Movement, thanks all those who offered prayers for the safe return of the two brothers.
