National Disgrace: Police Forcibly Deprive Thousands Of Rights But Couldn’t Stop Handful Thugs Stealing Mace

What a week in Nigeria! In one swoop, we saw the Nigerian security apparatus demonstrating to all to see that their strength is only against the weak, unarmed citizens demanding that the government obeys its own laws, while the same security apparatus couldn’t help stop a handful of thugs storming the National Assembly to “steal” the mace, their symbol of authority.

The security were there in their multitudes, battle ready to stop thousands of unarmed civilians delivering a petition to the same lawmakers, but were nowhere close to stop less than ten thugs from storming the chambers while in session to “steal” the very symbol of authority, the mace. This is another record in national disgrace.

It is now proven that the so-called security in Nigeria is only against the weak. For hoodlums to enter Senate to do what they did, while civilians were stopped from delivering a legitimate petition to the same Senate, is a national disgrace!

Where was all the so-called “intelligence” and security (plain clothed and uniformed) that the FCT police Commissioner was boasting about on TV the other day? They were engaged trying to forcibly stop a perfectly legitimate peaceful protest, that is only calling for the government not to be lawless, but to obey the rules and court judgement.
