A nursing mother, Hawwa’u Musa Gombe, was remanded in prison custody in Suleja, Niger state without her infant baby for participating in free Zakzaky protest in Abuja last week.

Hawwa’u was taken to Suleja prison along with two other minors, but the prison authorities declined accepting the minors. However, Hawwa’u was severed from her infant child, who is still breastfeeding.

She said her suckling baby is probably with the other sisters in Abuja. She disclosed that she came to join in the protest to free Sheikh Zakzaky, but was arrested and taken to Suleja prison.
