Elrufai Begs Christians For Support After Bragging That He Doesn’t Need Their Votes

Kaduna State governor, Nasiru Elrufai has shamelessly met Pastors from different Churches in Kaduna State yesterday at the Hotel Seventeen to beg them to support his sinking re-election bid, barely one month after he arrogantly said that even if the Pope was his running mate, Christians in Kaduna won’t vote for him.

Apart from his divisive antics in his four years of misrule in the state, he picked a Muslim lady as his running mate in the forthcoming elections, as if to tell them that they are electorally insignificant in the state.

The predominantly Christian southern part of the state has experienced a fair share of herdsmen violence for which the governor had no solution. He at one time said he paid herdsmen to stop the attacks and that didn’t go on well with many residents of the area.

The embattled governor also has fallen out of favour with nearly every politician in the region including the Senator representing the Southern part of the state and even the incumbent deputy governor, with whom they once reportedly had a physical exchange of blows, one of the main reasons why he isn’t contesting with him again.

Christian women from the southern Kaduna even once came out naked and held him hostage during one of his visits to the region to protest his misrule.

It remains to be seen how this begging of Christian leaders would now at the eleventh hour save his arrogant quest.
