At least two people were arrested during the emergency midnight Free Zakzaky protest last night in Rigasa area of Kaduna metropolis. The procession was simultaneously carried out in different parts of Kaduna.
The Police had initially opened fire in order to forcefully stop the procession but were not successful. There were no reported cases of casualties.
Midnight processions broke out spontaneously in virtually every part of Northern Nigeria following reports that the health condition of the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky has deteriorated in his detention facility in Kaduna yesterday, having been poisoned by the Buhari government while in detention.
The government has also been denying the ailing Sheikh the opportunity to be talen out for further expert medical treatment outside the country.
It is not clear yet where the arrested people were taken to. All other processions in other parts of the country ended peacefully with no reported incidences.
