The complicity of the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari in Boko Haram attacks has once again been exposed in a feature program by the CBN Satellite Television cable station through a complex secret connection that involves Turkey supplying weapons to Boko Haram with the approval of the Nigeria government.
This is coming as it is becoming increasingly clear that the Nigerian President is plotting a third term agenda and the thug leader of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau, has resurfaced and has started issuing videos with threats of violence. Shekau has reportedly released a second video message in 24 hours, this time condemning Shi’ah Islam.
Shekau had similarly threatened the Islamic Movement in Nigeria and its leadership, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, in 2015 with genocide and merely a few weeks later, started detonating bombs on Nigerian Shia community on Arbaeen religious rites in Kano and the Nigerian army continued from there.
Last year in April, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia had divulged that the attacks on the Nigerian Shi’ah and Shaikh Zakzaky is one of their major achievements in Africa. This has not being denied. In fact, Buhari’s close relationship with the Saudis became stronger, with very frequent visits between them. An indistinct security and military alliance was formed, and since then those who had distinguished themselves in massacring the Shi’ites, including governor Ganduje of Kano state and former defence minister, Dan Suleiman were honoured by the Saudi government.
Only earlier this week, we brought a video evidence of the Chief Imam of the National mosque confessing that he was selected in 2015 to secretly meet with top Saudi official, whose mandate in Nigeria is how they would wage war against Shi’ah and Sufi Islam – the very theme of the latest Shekau video.
It is just now becoming clearer that Turkey has been playing a key role in this war, through supplying sophisticated weapons to their men in the field through the connivance of the Buhari government.
Buhari’s inordinate fear of leaving office alive has made him particularly more tyrannical, with increasingly militarized elections, distaste for opposition and surrounding himself with incompetent yes men. He has been unable to even change the service chiefs because of the fear of the unknown.
He is not sure he would not be exposed once out of office or he will be able to get a replacement who would expose him.
However, it is a matter of time.
