Thousands of members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria last afternoon took to the streets of city center, Kaduna to protest the continued illegal detention of Sheikh Zakzaky and the irresponsible comments by the Kaduna state governor, Nasiru El-Rufai, that the ailing Sheikh will never be released as long as he (El-Rufai) remains the governor. This evening, an additional worshipper, Aliyu Nasir, has been shot dead by Nigerian police in Kaduna while marking the Maulud in commemoration of the birthday of the Holy Prophet (S).
