For the second time since the commencement of the Daily Free Zakzaky Sit Out at the Unity Fountain in Abuja by the coalition of groups led by the Concerned Nigerians some 22 days ago, the event extended beyond the venue.
This time around, it transformed into a free Zakzaky procession that went to the Federal Ministry of Justice to deliver a list of complaints and demands to the Federal Attorney General (AGF).
In an orderly manner, the protest march left the unity fountain and proceeded to the Justice Ministry, with posters and placards bearing pictures and free Zakzaky inscriptions, and chanting slogans vociferously stating their main demand, which is free Zakzaky.
At the Ministry, the protesters were received by an official of the Ministry, who represented the AGF. He commended the orderly nature of the protest most especially the way and manner the protesters controlled both crowd and traffic without any obstruction. He promised to transmit the written message with their demands on to the Minister.
The procession then receded back to the Unity Fountain before a closing prayer was offered and people dispersed.
Yesterday, a similar procession was led to the gates of the National Assembly.
The Daily Sit Out will continue tomorrow as usual starting from 9:00am.
